Israeli Air strikes continues in Gaza

PALESTINE: Israel air strikes entered its fourth day. Ten Palestinians were killed by Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Stripe, on Friday. The strikes continued on Sunday and this mid-night.

The Friday’s air strikes killed ten Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip which was followed by firing of more than 24 rockets at Israel by the Palestinian gunmen, from the coastal Hamas-ruled territory. The violence intensified when Israel blew up a car in Gaza City. Israel has confirmed of launching three air strikes. The first air strike killed Zuheir al-Qessi, a senior militant leader who headed the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) and also Mahmoud al-Hanani. Hamas fired 30 rockets at Israel, injuring three civilians, and five other rockets were intercepted by Israel’s ‘Iron-Dome’ anti-missile system. It is being said that Israel attempted to prevent the militants from using Egypt’s Sinai desert for conducting attacks on Israel, as Zuheir al-Qessi had been planning an attack on Israel across the Egyptian border in the coming days. On Sunday, Israel airstrikes killed a 12-year-old boy, a 60-year-old farm guard and a militant. The boy was hit while walking with a friend to school in the northern town of Jebaliya and the guard died in Gaza City while walking with his dog, who was also killed. While on the other side, 3 Israelis have been hurt by Palestinian rocket fire since Friday. Israel claimed success in the first major battlefield test of its of its Iron Dome anti-missile system, which intercepted 30 of more than 120 rockets fired from Gaza since Friday
